About Us

My name is Matt Ferguson and I am the owner of Ferguson Home Inspections. I currently reside in Maumelle, Arkansas and have lived there since 2005. I have a Science Degree in Biology and spent 17 years managing a USDA research lab located here in central Arkansas. My oldest son was diagnosed with autism and severe anxiety disorder at the age of 10 and when he was 14, my wife and I decided the best way to help him succeed in life was to homeschool him. I made the decision to leave my career and homeschooled him from 8th grade through high school graduation.

Although my formal education is in the sciences, I have worked in construction and home repair since my early teenage years, working with builders in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area through my college years. For over 20 years I have provided handyman services for family, friends, and acquaintances in my spare time. During my years of homeschooling my son, I returned to the handyman work full time during our summers off from school. It was during this time that I began to develop a passion for helping people learn about their homes and helping them make repairs that would last. Going forward, I decided the best way to help homeowners was through the home inspection industry.
